The best mid-range NordicTrack. The 3.6 CHP motor matches the Commercial 1250, the 10″ tilting screen is genuinely immersive, and it often undercuts the weaker T Series 10 on price.

NordicTrack T Series 9 Review: The Best Mid-Range NordicTrack?
The T Series 9 is the quiet overachiever in NordicTrack’s UK lineup. At £1,299, it packs a 3.6 CHP motor (the same unit found in the £1,799 Commercial 1250), a 10″ tilting touchscreen, and a 147 kg max user weight. It’s also, somewhat unusually, more powerful than the more expensive T Series 10 which sits at £1,199 with only a 3.0 CHP motor.
That power advantage is the T9’s secret weapon. The 3.6 CHP motor delivers seamless speed transitions during interval training and handles sustained high-speed running without hesitation. At normal jogging speeds it’s whisper-quiet. This is a motor that’s built for the kind of training most home runners actually do.
The 10″ tilting touchscreen
The 10-inch tilting HD touchscreen is where the T Series stops being a budget range. iFIT’s virtual outdoor routes filmed around the world display with genuine clarity, and the automatic terrain adjustment (speed and incline matching the real route) creates an experience that the 5″ and 7″ screens simply cannot match. The screen tilts for off-treadmill iFIT classes and supports Netflix, Spotify, and Amazon Prime streaming.
Who should buy the T9?
The T9 sits in a sweet spot for runners who want serious motor power and a proper touchscreen without paying £1,500+. It competes directly with the Reebok FR30z and Reebok Jet 300 at similar prices. NordicTrack wins on screen quality and iFIT integration. Reebok wins on warranty simplicity (no registration deadline) and subscription-free freedom.
The only things separating the T9 from the Commercial range are deck width (51 cm vs 55 cm) and decline training. If those matter to you, the Commercial 1250 at £1,799 delivers both. If they don’t, the T9 gives you the same motor at £800 less.
Running experience
The 3.6 CHP motor makes the T9 feel effortless at normal running speeds. At 6-8 mph, the motor is barely working, which means quieter operation and smoother speed transitions. Interval training (alternating between 4 mph walk and 10 mph sprint) feels seamless, with the belt accelerating and decelerating without the jerky transitions you get on smaller motors.
The 152 × 51 cm deck is full-size and accommodates runners up to about 6 ft comfortably. Taller runners may prefer the 55 cm width of the Commercial range, but for most people 51 cm is adequate. The deck length at 152 cm is generous and doesn’t feel cramped even at higher speeds.
SelectFlex cushioning
The adjustable SelectFlex system lets you choose between soft cushioning (joint-friendly, recommended for recovery runs and walkers) and firm cushioning (road-feel, better for race preparation). A physical lever under the deck switches between modes. Most users leave it on soft for everyday training, which reduces impact by up to 30% compared to outdoor running. If you’re training for a road race, switch to firm occasionally to condition your joints.
Noise levels and apartment use
The T9 is one of the quieter treadmills at this price point. The 3.6 CHP motor runs with minimal noise at all speeds, and the belt drive is smooth. At walking speeds (3-4 mph), you can easily hold a conversation or watch TV in the same room. At running speeds (7-9 mph), foot strikes become the primary sound source. The SelectFlex cushioning on its soft setting helps dampen impact noise. For apartment or flat use, the T9 is suitable during reasonable hours, though a treadmill mat is recommended to further reduce vibration transmission to floors below.
iFIT experience
The 30-day free trial gives you full access to iFIT’s library of 10,000+ workouts. The T9’s 10″ tilting touchscreen makes iFIT genuinely usable rather than something you squint at. Virtual outdoor routes with automatic speed and incline adjustment are the standout feature. Trainer-led programmes cover everything from couch-to-5k progressions to marathon preparation blocks.
Netflix, Spotify, and Amazon Prime stream natively through the iFIT 2.0 interface. The screen tilts for off-treadmill classes like yoga and stretching. After the trial, iFIT costs £15/month individual or £39/month for a family plan (up to 5 profiles). Without iFIT, manual mode gives you full speed and incline control with basic stat tracking on the touchscreen.
Assembly and dimensions
Assembly requires two people and takes 60-90 minutes. The instructions are clear but the unit is heavy. Once built, the T9 feels solid with no wobble at any speed. The SpaceSaver folding design with EasyLift Assist allows the deck to fold vertically, roughly halving the floor space. Transport wheels on the front make repositioning manageable on hard floors.
Unfolded footprint is approximately 190 × 90 cm. You’ll need ceiling clearance of at least 220 cm plus your height for comfortable use at the maximum 12% incline. The unit weighs around 110 kg assembled.
Who should NOT buy the T9
Skip the T9 if you need decline training for race preparation or hill variety. No T Series model offers decline, and you’ll need the Commercial 1250 at minimum for that. Skip it if you’re a tall runner (6 ft 2+) who would benefit from the 55 cm wide deck in the Commercial range. And skip it if you have no interest in iFIT. The T9’s value proposition is built around its touchscreen and iFIT integration. Without the subscription, a JTX Sprint-7 at a similar price offers excellent hardware without any ongoing costs.

- AutoBreeze cooling fan
What could be better
- No decline training (Commercial range only)

- iFIT subscription adds ongoing cost
- Warranty requires 28-day registration
Our verdict
The T Series 9 is the best value in NordicTrack’s mid-range. A 3.6 CHP motor and 10″ touchscreen at £1,299 is a combination no other model in the range can match at this price. It’s more powerful than the T10 above it and cheaper too. The only reason to look elsewhere is if you need decline training (go Commercial) or if you want a subscription-free treadmill (go Reebok or JTX).
