Type: Under-desk walking pad | Motor: 1 HP brushless | Speed: up to 3.7 mph | Belt: 120 × 40 cm | Max user weight: 100 kg | Folding: 180-degree fold | Weight: 25 kg | Price: from £369

The WalkingPad C2 is one of the originals, the compact, 180-degree-folding under-desk pad that helped make the brand a household name and has sold in the millions worldwide. It is slim, stylish, comes in a range of colours, and is genuinely quiet, all of which keeps it popular years after launch. It is also stocked widely in the UK, from the official store to John Lewis.

But it is an older design, and the range has moved on around it. The honest question in 2026 is not whether the C2 is a competent walking pad, it is, but whether it still makes sense when the newer Z1 often costs less and offers more. This review covers what the C2 does well and where it has been overtaken.

Who it’s for: desk walkers who like the C2’s slim looks and colour choices, buyers who find it heavily discounted, and anyone who wants a proven, widely-stocked compact pad.

Who it’s not for: value hunters (the Z1 usually does more for less), heavier users (100 kg limit; the A1 Pro goes to 136 kg), runners (walking only), and anyone wanting incline (no WalkingPad has it, see UREVO).

Key Features and Benefits

Compact, Quiet and Good-Looking

The C2’s appeal has always been how unobtrusive it is. It folds 180 degrees to roughly the thickness of a door, slides under a bed or sofa, and rolls on transport wheels. The brushless motor is genuinely quiet, around 48 dB at walking pace, quiet enough for calls and shared rooms, and the glossy finish comes in several colours so it looks more like a design object than gym kit. For a tidy home and a work-from-home setup, it still ticks the boxes.

FootSense Auto-Speed and the App

Like the better models in the range, the C2 includes FootSense automatic speed control, adjusting the belt to your position so you can walk hands-free. It also pairs with the KS Fit app for tracking and phone control, alongside the included remote. As with every FootSense model, it wants a hard floor; carpet can upset the sensors, so a mat helps.

The Walking Experience

The 120 cm belt is a comfortable length for a compact pad, and the multi-layer EVA cushioning takes some sting out of each step. Top speed is 3.7 mph, brisk walking, with the usual caveat that this is a walking pad and not built for running. There is a slight ridge where the deck folds that you can just about feel through thin shoes, though most owners stop noticing it quickly.

What to Watch

The C2 is an older design and owner feedback is more mixed than for the newer models. The most common gripes are belt centring drifting over time, occasional “bubbling” under the belt, and motor noise increasing after several months of heavy use. None of these are universal, and the included tools let you re-centre the belt, but they are worth knowing given the newer Z1 sits below it on price.

WalkingPad C2 Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Slim, stylish, multiple colours
  • Genuinely quiet brushless motor
  • FootSense auto-speed and KS Fit app
  • Compact 180-degree fold with wheels
  • Widely stocked and proven

Cons

  • Usually pricier than the better Z1
  • Lower 100 kg weight capacity
  • Owner reports of belt centring and noise over time
  • Walking only, no incline
  • One-year warranty only

How the WalkingPad C2 Compares

vs WalkingPad Z1 (~£259): This is the comparison that matters. The Z1 typically costs less than the C2 while offering a stronger 1.25 HP motor, a higher 110 kg weight capacity and the more compact Z-fold. For most buyers choosing between the two, the Z1 is the better value and the one we’d recommend.

vs WalkingPad A1 Pro (£429): The A1 Pro is the premium step up, with a 136 kg weight capacity and an aluminium chassis. If you need the capacity or want the best-built pad, it is worth the extra over the C2.

vs cheaper Amazon pads: Against the sub-£150 no-name pads, the C2 wins on motor quality, belt length and brand support. If you have decided on WalkingPad specifically, though, the Z1 is the smarter pick at this end of the range.

Verdict

The WalkingPad C2 is still a competent, good-looking and quiet compact walking pad, and if you find it discounted or love its slim styling and colours, you will not be disappointed by the basics. But the range has moved on. The newer Z1 usually costs less, carries a stronger motor and a higher weight capacity, and folds more compactly, which makes it the better buy for most people. The C2 earns a solid score for what it does, but it is no longer the one to reach for first.

WalkingPad C2 FAQs

Can you run on the WalkingPad C2?

No. The C2 is a walking pad capped at 3.7 mph (6 km/h), which is walking pace. You can stretch to a very light jog given the belt length, but it is not built for running. For that, look at the WalkingPad R2 hybrid or a folding treadmill.

Is the WalkingPad C2 or Z1 better?

For most buyers, the Z1. It usually costs less than the C2 while offering a stronger 1.25 HP motor, a higher 110 kg weight capacity and a more compact Z-fold. The C2 is worth considering mainly if you prefer its styling or find it well discounted.

What is the weight capacity of the C2?

100 kg (220 lb). That is fine for most users but lower than the Z1’s 110 kg and well below the A1 Pro’s 136 kg. Heavier users should look at the A1 Pro.

Is the WalkingPad C2 quiet?

Yes. Its brushless motor runs at around 48 dB at walking pace, quiet enough for video calls and shared rooms. Noise can rise if the belt is used on carpet, so a hard floor or a mat is best.

Does the WalkingPad C2 have incline?

No. No WalkingPad model offers incline. For powered incline, look at UREVO or a conventional treadmill.
