The biggest screen in the T Series at 16 inches. Great for iFIT immersion, but no decline and a 3.0 CHP motor mean you’re paying for screen real estate, not running capability.

NordicTrack T Series 16 Review: Big Screen, But Is That Enough?
The T Series 16 is the top of NordicTrack’s T Series range, and its entire proposition can be summarised in two words: bigger screen. Mechanically it’s identical to the T Series 10: same 3.0 CHP motor, same 12.5 mph top speed, same 12% incline (no decline), same 152 × 51 cm deck. The only difference is the screen grows from 10″ to 16″.
That 16″ display is the same size as the one on the Commercial 1750, which costs £500 more. So the T16 gives you Commercial-grade screen immersion at a T Series price. The trade-off is that you’re pairing that premium screen with T Series mechanicals.
The real decision at £1,799
At this price point, you’re close to Commercial territory. The Commercial 1250 costs £1,799 and gives you a 3.6 CHP motor, a 55 cm wide deck, and decline training (-3%), but with a smaller 10″ screen. That’s the fundamental choice: do you want a big screen or better running hardware?
If you’re an iFIT enthusiast who runs at moderate speeds and values the immersive experience of virtual routes on a large display, the T16 delivers. If you’re a serious runner who trains at higher intensities and wants decline capability, save or stretch to the Commercial 1250.
iFIT on the 16″ screen
The 16″ display is where the T16 earns its place. iFIT’s virtual routes filmed across the world look genuinely cinematic at this size. Trainer-led workouts display clearly enough that you can follow form cues from across the room. Netflix, Spotify, and Amazon Prime stream through the iFIT 2.0 interface, making the treadmill double as an entertainment hub.
The screen tilts for optimal viewing and works as a pivoting display for off-treadmill iFIT classes. If you regularly do iFIT yoga, strength, or stretching sessions alongside your runs, this flexibility adds genuine value.
Motor and running performance
The 3.0 CHP motor handles daily running at normal speeds without issue. At walking pace and steady jogging (up to 7-8 mph), the motor is quiet and responsive. Speed transitions during interval training are smooth. Where the weaker motor shows itself is during sustained high-speed running above 10 mph, where the 3.6 CHP motor in the cheaper T Series 9 delivers more headroom and smoother performance under load.
For most home runners who primarily jog at 5-8 mph with occasional faster intervals, the 3.0 CHP motor is perfectly adequate. If you regularly run at 10+ mph or do heavy interval work, the T9’s stronger motor is the better choice despite the smaller screen.
SelectFlex cushioning and deck
The adjustable SelectFlex system lets you switch between soft cushioning (joint protection, recovery runs) and firm cushioning (road-feel, race preparation) via a physical lever under the deck. The 152 × 51 cm deck is full-size and comfortable for runners up to about 6 ft. The 51 cm width is adequate but noticeably narrower than the 55 cm Commercial models if you’ve used both.
Noise and apartment suitability
The T16 runs quietly at walking and jogging speeds. The 3.0 CHP motor is unobtrusive, and belt noise is minimal. Foot strikes become the dominant sound source above 8 mph. On the soft SelectFlex setting, impact noise is dampened. Suitable for flat or apartment use at reasonable hours with a treadmill mat.
Assembly and footprint
Two-person assembly takes 60-90 minutes. Once built, the unit feels solid with no wobble. The SpaceSaver folding design with EasyLift Assist halves the floor space when the deck is raised vertically. Unfolded footprint is approximately 190 × 90 cm. Transport wheels allow repositioning on hard floors.
The awkward price position
The T16’s biggest problem isn’t what it is, it’s what sits at the same price. At £1,799, the Commercial 1250 costs exactly the same and adds decline training, a wider 55 cm deck, and a stronger 3.6 CHP motor, but drops to a 10″ screen. And the Commercial 1750 at £1,999 gives you the same 16″ screen PLUS decline training, a wider deck, and a 4.25 CHP motor for just £200 more.
The T16 only makes sense if the 16″ screen is your absolute priority and £1,799 is a firm budget ceiling. If you can flex by £200, the Commercial 1750 gives you a more capable treadmill with the same screen size.
What we like
- 16″ touchscreen matches the Commercial 1750’s display size
- iFIT virtual routes look genuinely immersive at this screen size
- Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime built in
- SelectFlex adjustable cushioning
- 147 kg max user weight
- 0% finance via Klarna from £63/month
What could be better
- 3.0 CHP motor is the same as the £1,199 T10 and weaker than the £1,299 T9
- No decline training at a price close to the Commercial range
- 51 cm deck width is narrower than the 55 cm Commercial models
- Paying a £500 premium over the T10 purely for screen size
- iFIT subscription adds ongoing cost
Our verdict
The T Series 16 is for iFIT fans who prioritise screen immersion above all else. The 16″ display is genuinely excellent, and at £1,799 it undercuts the Commercial 1750 by £200 for the same screen size. But you sacrifice motor power, deck width, and decline training. The Commercial 1250 costs the same and is a better treadmill mechanically. If you can stretch to £1,999 for the Commercial 1750, you’ll get the best of both worlds.
