ProForm Treadmills UK: Every Model Reviewed & Compared for 2026

Three ProForm treadmills side by side in an open plan UK home gym

ProForm is one of the most established home treadmill brands available in the UK, and the name most people encounter when they search for something between a flimsy Amazon treadmill and a £2,000+ NordicTrack flagship.

That’s not a coincidence either, because who owns ProForm Fitness? That’s right, it’s NordicTrack. ProForm and NordicTrack are both owned by iFIT, the same parent company. They share the same factory floors, the same app ecosystem and, in many cases, near-identical engineering. The difference is in the positioning: NordicTrack gets the bigger screens, decline features on certain models, and the premium price tags. ProForm gets the sensible price point with most of the same underlying technology.

Quick Navigation

In the UK, ProForm currently sells five treadmills ranging from the £599 Sport up to the £1,499 Carbon Pro 2000. Every single one is iFIT-compatible, every one folds, and every one uses ProForm’s SpaceSaver design with EasyLift hydraulic assist. The differences mostly come down to motor power, belt size, incline range, display type and, more than you might expect, what is included in the box versus what costs extra each month.

That monthly cost is iFIT, and it is the elephant on the running deck. ProForm treadmills work without an iFIT subscription. You can step on, press buttons and run. But the entire console experience, the SmartAdjust automatic speed and incline control, the ActivePulse heart rate zone training, the trainer-led workouts around the world, all of that sits behind a paywall starting at £14 per month. This guide will help you work out which ProForm to buy and whether iFIT is worth the ongoing investment.

ProForm sells to UK customers via Amazon UK and direct, but generally we find the best deals and delivery options can be had on Amazon. UK retailer Fitness Superstore also stocks the full range. Warranty is identical regardless of where you buy: register your product within 28 days for a lifetime frame guarantee, 5-year motor warranty and 2 years parts and labour.

Understanding the Range: Carbon vs Sport

ProForm organises its UK treadmills into two lines, though the naming does not make this immediately obvious:

  • Carbon Series — four models ranging from £619 to £1,499. All Carbon treadmills use ProShox cushioning (ProForm’s patented shock absorption system), come with SpaceSaver folding and EasyLift hydraulic assist, and feature Bluetooth audio with built-in speakers. The Carbon series splits into two tiers: the Carbon TL and TLS use a 2.6 CHP motor with a 46 × 140 cm belt, while the Carbon TLX and Carbon Pro 2000 step up to a 3.0 CHP motor with a much larger 51 × 152 cm belt. The Pro 2000 is the only model with a built-in touchscreen.
  • Sport Series — one model at £599. The Sport treadmill is ProForm’s entry point. It uses CoreShox cushioning (a step down from ProShox), a 1.86 CHP motor and a noticeably smaller 41 × 119 cm belt. It still folds, it still connects to iFIT, and it still has 10% incline, but the running surface is significantly shorter and narrower than any Carbon model. This is a walker’s treadmill that can handle a jog, not a runner’s treadmill.

Carbon Pro 20003.0 CHP12 mph0–12%51 × 152 cm10″ HD touchscreen159 kg£1,499

A few things jump off that comparison table. The Sport and Carbon TL are only £20 apart but the Carbon TL has a substantially bigger belt and a more powerful motor. The TL is the better buy unless space is genuinely tight. The Carbon TLS at £999 is harder to justify over the Carbon TL at £619 when the only meaningful spec difference is 2% extra incline (12% vs 10%), though the TLS often includes a 1-year iFIT Train membership on Amazon UK which partially bridges the price gap. And the gap between the TLX at £1,199 and the Pro 2000 at £1,499 is essentially a touchscreen and a higher weight capacity.

Sport Series

ProForm Sport

Amazon.co.uk Rating:

Buy Now on Amazon:

The ProForm Sport treadmill is ProForm’s most compact and affordable model. It uses a 1.86 CHP motor, the smallest in the range, and a 41 × 119 cm running belt, which is noticeably shorter and narrower than the Carbon models. For context, most treadmill reviewers consider a 51 × 140 cm belt the minimum for comfortable running. At 41 cm wide and 119 cm long, the Sport is firmly in walking and jogging territory. It’s a very similar treadmill to the NordicTrack T Series 5.

It reaches 10 mph and inclines to 10%, which is respectable for the price. CoreShox cushioning (a simpler system than the ProShox found on Carbon models) provides basic joint protection. There is an LCD display for workout metrics but no colour screen. You will need your own phone or tablet propped on the built-in shelf for iFIT workouts. Dimensions are a compact 149 × 67 × 122 cm, making this the easiest ProForm to fit into a small flat.

The Sport connects to iFIT via Bluetooth and supports SmartAdjust, which lets iFIT trainers automatically control your speed and incline. It also syncs with Strava, Garmin, Google Fit and Apple Health. A 30-day iFIT Train trial is included.

Best for: Walkers and light joggers in small spaces who want iFIT connectivity without committing to a full-size treadmill. If you plan to run regularly, spend the extra £20 on the Carbon TL.

Carbon Series

Carbon TL

Our RunRank Rating:

Amazon.co.uk Rating:

Buy Now on Amazon:

The ProForm Carbon TL folding treadmill is the entry point to ProForm’s more capable Carbon line and, arguably, the best value in the entire UK range. For just £20 more than the Sport, you get a significantly larger 46 × 140 cm belt, a more powerful 2.6 CHP motor, and ProShox cushioning instead of CoreShox. The jump in running surface alone makes this a different class of machine.

Top speed is 10 mph and incline maxes out at 10%. The 5″ high-contrast multi-colour display shows your core metrics clearly, and there is a built-in tablet shelf for streaming iFIT. Bluetooth audio connects to the dual 2″ speakers, and a USB-C port keeps your device charged during workouts. The SpaceSaver design folds the deck up with EasyLift hydraulic assist.

Like all Carbon models, the TL supports SmartAdjust (automatic speed and incline adjustment by iFIT trainers) and ActivePulse (heart rate zone training with a separate Bluetooth heart rate monitor). A 30-day iFIT Train trial is included. The TL syncs with Strava, Garmin, Google Fit and Apple Health.

Note: The Carbon TL has been intermittently out of stock on Amazon UK. If availability is an issue, the Carbon TLS offers the same belt and motor with 2% extra incline, though at a significantly higher price.

Best for: Anyone who wants a proper folding treadmill for walking and jogging without the premium price. The 46 cm belt width is adequate for most joggers under 6 ft. Serious runners should look at the TLX or Pro 2000 for the 51 cm wide belt.

Carbon TLS

Our RunRank Rating:

Amazon.co.uk Rating:

Buy Now on Amazon:

The ProForm Carbon TLS shares its 2.6 CHP motor and 46 × 140 cm belt with the Carbon TL, so the hardware differences are slim: you get 12% incline instead of 10%, and that is essentially it for specs. The same 5″ display, same ProShox cushioning, same SpaceSaver folding, same 136 kg user weight limit. It looks incredibility familiar to the NordicTrack T Series 8 or T Series 9, and shares a lot of the same features.

So why does the TLS cost £380 more than the TL? Two reasons. First, the extra 2% incline (10% vs 12%) does matter for incline walking workouts, like the 12-3-30. If you follow iFIT’s hill training programmes, the trainer can push your incline higher for more challenging sessions. Second, and more practically, the Amazon UK listing for the TLS includes a 1-year iFIT Train membership (worth £168), which somewhat narrows the effective price gap.

The TLS supports all the same iFIT features as the TL: SmartAdjust, ActivePulse, Strava and Garmin syncing, and Bluetooth audio through dual 2″ speakers. It folds and stores identically.

Best for: Incline walking enthusiasts who specifically want 12% incline capability and like the idea of a bundled iFIT subscription. If you do not care about the extra 2% incline or the included membership, the Carbon TL at £619 is objectively better value.

Carbon TLX

Our RunRank Rating:

Amazon.co.uk Rating:

Buy Now on Amazon:

The ProForm Carbon TLX is where ProForm gets properly serious about running. The motor jumps to 3.0 CHP, top speed increases to 12 mph (a 5-minute mile pace), incline reaches 12%, and the belt expands to a generous 51 × 152 cm, the same dimensions found on many gym-grade machines. This is a real running treadmill, not a simple jogging machine.

The display upgrades to a 7″ high-contrast multi-colour screen, which is larger and clearer than the 5″ panels on the TL and TLS, though it is still not a touchscreen. You will still prop your phone or tablet on the shelf for iFIT content. Bluetooth audio, dual 2″ speakers, USB-C charging, ProShox cushioning and the SpaceSaver folding system all carry over from the lower Carbon models.

Build quality is notably more robust. The step-up height is just 19.7 cm from floor to belt surface, which makes it suitable for rooms with lower ceilings. Multiple reviews praise the TLX’s stability at speed, with real users reporting no wobble or play even during high-speed sprints. The 136 kg user weight limit is unchanged from the TL and TLS, however.

The TLX supports all iFIT features including SmartAdjust and ActivePulse, and syncs with Strava, Garmin, Google Fit and Apple Health. A 30-day iFIT Train trial is included.

Best for: Regular runners who want a capable, fold-away treadmill that handles intervals, long runs and incline training without needing a built-in touchscreen. If you already own a tablet, this delivers 90% of the Pro 2000 experience for £300 less.

Carbon Pro 2000

ProForm Carbon Pro 2000 treadmill with touchscreen in a UK home gym

Our RunRank Rating:

Amazon.co.uk Rating:

Buy Now on Amazon:

The ProForm Carbon Pro 2000 is the flagship of ProForm’s UK range and the only model with a built-in touchscreen. That 10″ HD display runs iFIT natively. No phone, no tablet, no Bluetooth pairing required. You sign in on the screen, pick a workout, and the machine adjusts speed and incline automatically as a trainer leads you through routes in Iceland, studio HIIT sessions or hill intervals in the Lake District. You can also stream Netflix, Disney+ and other services through iFIT (with a Pro subscription).

Under the screen, the Pro 2000 shares its 3.0 CHP motor, 12 mph top speed, 12% incline and 51 × 152 cm belt with the Carbon TLX. Where it pulls ahead is build quality and weight capacity: 159 kg versus 136 kg on every other UK ProForm, reflecting heavier-duty components throughout.

ProShox cushioning with an adjustable firmness option lets you switch between a softer, trail-like feel and a firmer road-running surface. The CoolAire fan has two speed settings, and Bluetooth audio connects to dual 2″ speakers.

The Pro 2000 folds with the same SpaceSaver EasyLift system and rolls on transport wheels. iFIT syncs with Strava, Garmin and Apple Health. A 30-day iFIT membership trial is included, though to unlock the full touchscreen experience long-term, you will need either an iFIT Train subscription (£14/month) or an iFIT Pro subscription (£34/month for streaming entertainment and advanced features).

Best for: Runners and serious fitness enthusiasts who want an all-in-one experience with a built-in screen and are comfortable paying for iFIT. If you would rather use your own device, the Carbon TLX at £1,199 is mechanically almost identical.

The ProForm Treadmill Ecosystem

Understanding iFIT

Every ProForm treadmill sold in the UK connects to iFIT, and understanding what that means, and what it costs, is crucial before buying.

Without iFIT: The treadmill works in manual mode. You can adjust speed and incline with the console buttons and see basic workout stats on the display. On the Pro 2000, the touchscreen shows limited functionality. On all other models, the small LCD or 7″ display shows your metrics. There are no built-in workout programmes on the machine itself (unlike brands such as JLL which include onboard programmes).

iFIT Train (£14/month): Access to 10,000+ trainer-led workouts via the iFIT app on your phone or tablet (or the Pro 2000’s touchscreen). SmartAdjust automatically controls speed and incline during workouts. The treadmill syncs with Strava, Garmin, Google Fit and Apple Health. You get outdoor scenic routes, studio classes and progress tracking. This is the subscription most UK buyers will want.

iFIT Pro (£34/month or £408/year): Everything in Train plus streaming entertainment (Netflix, Disney+ etc.) through the iFIT app or touchscreen, enhanced analytics, family sharing, and more advanced AI coaching features. This tier makes most sense for the Pro 2000 where you can stream directly on the built-in screen.

ActivePulse (all models): With a separate Bluetooth heart rate monitor (sold separately), iFIT can automatically adjust your treadmill’s speed and incline to keep you in a target heart rate zone. This works on all five UK models.

SmartAdjust (all models): During iFIT workouts, trainers control your treadmill’s speed and incline in real time. The machine responds automatically. You can override manually at any time. This is the feature that distinguishes iFIT from simply watching a YouTube workout while running.

A note on cost: an iFIT Train subscription at £14/month adds £168/year to your ownership cost. Over three years, that is £504 on top of the treadmill price. Budget accordingly.

Who Should Buy ProForm

You want iFIT. ProForm treadmills are fundamentally designed around the iFIT platform. If interactive trainer-led workouts, automatic speed and incline adjustment, and scenic routes appeal to you, ProForm delivers all of that at a lower price than sibling brand NordicTrack.

You need a folding treadmill. Every ProForm in the UK range folds with the SpaceSaver EasyLift system. The hydraulic assist makes the fold smooth and safe. If your treadmill lives in a spare room, garage or living room corner, this matters.

You want UK warranty support. Registered ProForm treadmills get a lifetime frame guarantee, 5-year motor warranty and 2 years parts and labour. That is competitive with or better than Reebok, JLL and most Amazon brands.

You prefer a known brand. ProForm has been making treadmills since 1987. The iFIT group (including NordicTrack) is the largest home fitness equipment company in the world. Parts, service and support are well established in the UK.

You should think twice if: You do not want a subscription. Without iFIT, ProForm treadmills are functional but bare — no onboard programmes, no entertainment features, just a motor and a belt with buttons. If you want a treadmill that is fully featured out of the box without monthly fees, brands like JLL or Reebok include built-in workout programmes at no ongoing cost.

ProForm vs NordicTrack

Since both brands share the same parent company, this comes up constantly. The short version: NordicTrack treadmills get bigger touchscreens (up to 22″), decline capability on certain models (up to -3%), slightly more powerful motors and higher price tags. ProForm treadmills get the same iFIT integration, the same folding mechanisms and the same core technology at a lower cost, but without built-in touchscreens on most models and without decline.

If you already own a tablet and do not need decline training, ProForm offers significantly better value. The Carbon TLX at £1,199 matches or exceeds many NordicTrack models costing £1,500+. The trade-off is purely in the screen and the decline, everything else is engineered to the same standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a ProForm treadmill without iFIT?

Yes. Every ProForm treadmill works in manual mode without an iFIT subscription. You control speed and incline with the console buttons. However, there are no built-in workout programmes, so you simply set your own speed and incline manually. The Pro 2000’s touchscreen shows limited information without iFIT. If you want a fully featured experience without a subscription, consider other brands.

How much does iFIT cost in the UK?

iFIT Train costs £14 per month or can be purchased annually. iFIT Pro costs £34 per month or £408 per year (sometimes discounted to £349 with equipment purchases). Some ProForm treadmills on Amazon UK include a 1-year iFIT Train membership. The Carbon TLS listing currently bundles this. All models include at least a 30-day trial.

What is the difference between ProShox and CoreShox?

ProShox is ProForm’s premium cushioning system, found on all Carbon models. It uses patented shock absorbers throughout the deck to reduce impact on joints. CoreShox is a simpler cushioning system found on the Sport treadmill. Both reduce impact compared to running on a bare deck, but ProShox provides noticeably more absorption and is the system recommended for regular runners.

Is the Carbon TL the same as the old Carbon T7 or T10?

Not exactly. ProForm discontinued the Carbon T7 and T10 and replaced them with the current Carbon TL and TLX. The TLX is the direct successor, offering improved specs including a 3.0 CHP motor and 12 mph top speed. The TL sits below it as a new entry-level Carbon model.

Does ProForm deliver to Northern Ireland?

Yes. Amazon UK delivers ProForm treadmills to Northern Ireland. ProForm’s own UK store (proformfitness.co.uk) also ships to mainland UK including Northern Ireland, though delivery times may be longer. Fitness Superstore offers 2-man delivery to ground floor for most ProForm models.

Which ProForm treadmill is best for running?

The Carbon TLX (£1,199) and Carbon Pro 2000 (£1,499) are the only models with a running-grade 51 × 152 cm belt and 3.0 CHP motor. Both reach 12 mph and incline to 12%. The TLX is £300 cheaper; the Pro 2000 adds a touchscreen and higher weight capacity. The Carbon TL and TLS have smaller belts (46 × 140 cm) that are adequate for jogging but will feel cramped for taller runners or fast sprints.

Can I use Zwift with a ProForm treadmill?

ProForm treadmills are not natively Zwift-compatible. They are designed exclusively for iFIT. You can run on a ProForm while watching Zwift on a separate device, but the treadmill will not transmit speed data to Zwift or receive automatic pace adjustments. If Zwift compatibility is important, consider the Reebok range which pretty much universally support Zwift via Kinomap, or look at brands that support Bluetooth FTMS broadcasting.

What warranty do ProForm treadmills come with?

The standard warranty is 12 months parts and labour. However, if you register your product within 28 days of purchase (online at iconsupport.eu), this extends to a lifetime frame guarantee, 5-year motor warranty (parts only) and 2 years parts and labour. Registration is free and strongly recommended. The extended warranty is significantly better than what most competing brands offer at this price point.

Who makes ProForm?

ProForm is manufactured by iFIT Health & Fitness (formerly ICON Health & Fitness), the world’s largest home fitness equipment company based in Logan, Utah. iFIT also owns NordicTrack, Freemotion, and the iFIT connected fitness platform. ProForm and NordicTrack share factory floors and engineering, with ProForm positioned as the more affordable brand and NordicTrack as the premium line.

Which is better, NordicTrack or ProForm?

Both are made by the same parent company and share core engineering. NordicTrack generally offers larger built-in touchscreens, decline capability on some models, and higher weight capacities. ProForm delivers similar running hardware at lower price points. The Carbon TLX (£1,199) matches or beats the NordicTrack T Series 8 on motor, belt size, and incline while costing less. If you want a premium touchscreen experience, NordicTrack wins. If you want the best running specs per pound, ProForm is the smarter buy.

Is ProForm as good as Peloton?

They target different buyers. Peloton offers a polished, premium experience with its own content ecosystem and high build quality, but at significantly higher prices. The Peloton Tread starts at £1,345 with a mandatory £24/month subscription. ProForm’s Carbon Pro 2000 (£1,499) offers a comparable touchscreen experience with iFIT at a lower subscription cost (£14/month for Train). The running hardware is competitive between the two. ProForm gives you more choice across price points, while Peloton offers a more curated, boutique experience.

What is the best ProForm treadmill to buy?

It depends on how you plan to use it. For walking and light jogging on a budget, the Carbon TL at £619 is exceptional value. For regular running, the Carbon TLX at £1,199 is the sweet spot with a full-size running belt, 3.0 CHP motor, and 12 mph top speed. For the complete touchscreen experience, the Carbon Pro 2000 at £1,499 adds a 10-inch HD display and higher weight capacity.

Are ProForm treadmills good for home use?

Yes. Every current UK model folds with SpaceSaver hydraulic assist, making them practical for homes where the treadmill needs to share space with daily life. The compact footprints suit spare bedrooms, garages, and living rooms. iFIT integration adds a connected gym experience, and the Quiet Drive motors on the Carbon range keep noise levels neighbour-friendly. ProForm treadmills are specifically designed for home environments rather than commercial gyms.

Is ProForm worth it?

For iFIT users, ProForm represents some of the best value in the UK treadmill market. You get the same connected fitness platform and SmartAdjust technology as NordicTrack at lower price points. The Carbon TL at £619 and Carbon TLX at £1,199 are standout choices in their respective price brackets. If you do not plan to use iFIT, the treadmills still work well in manual mode, though brands like Reebok and JLL offer more built-in programmes without a subscription.

What is the life expectancy of a ProForm treadmill?

With proper maintenance, a ProForm treadmill should last 7 to 12 years under regular home use. The Carbon and Pro models with stronger motors and heavier frames tend to last longer than entry-level models. Key maintenance includes keeping the belt lubricated, the deck clean, and the motor area free of dust. ProForm’s lifetime frame warranty (when registered within 28 days) reflects confidence in long-term durability.

Do you need to lubricate a ProForm treadmill?

Yes. ProForm recommends lubricating the running belt every three months or every 130 hours of use, whichever comes first. Use 100% silicone-based treadmill lubricant only. Never use WD-40 or general-purpose oils. Lift the edge of the belt and apply lubricant along the centre of the deck beneath it. Regular lubrication reduces friction, extends belt life, and keeps the motor running efficiently. Some models come pre-lubricated from the factory, but you should still check after the first month of use.

Why does my ProForm treadmill keep stopping?

The most common causes are an overtightened belt creating excessive friction, a belt that needs lubrication, overheating from blocked ventilation around the motor housing, or a worn drive belt. Start by checking lubrication and belt tension. The belt should lift approximately 5 to 7 cm from the deck at the centre. If the treadmill displays an error code, check the manual or contact iFIT support at iconsupport.eu. Frequent stopping under load can also indicate the motor is undersized for your usage. If you are running regularly on a Sport or Carbon TL, the motor may be working harder than intended.

Why is my ProForm treadmill slipping when I walk on it?

Belt slipping is usually caused by insufficient tension or poor lubrication. First, lubricate the belt with silicone-based treadmill lubricant. If that does not resolve it, tighten the belt using the adjustment bolts at the rear of the deck. Turn each bolt a quarter-turn clockwise, alternating sides evenly. Over-tightening can strain the motor, so adjust gradually and test between each turn. If the belt continues slipping after adjustment and lubrication, the belt or drive belt may need replacing.

What are common problems with ProForm treadmills?

The most frequently reported issues are belt slipping (usually resolved with lubrication and tension adjustment), iFIT connectivity dropouts (typically a Wi-Fi signal strength issue, so move the router closer or use a Wi-Fi extender), and the console not powering on (check the safety key is fully inserted and the power cable is secure). More serious but less common issues include motor overheating from blocked ventilation and worn drive belts after several years of heavy use. Most problems are maintenance-related and easily preventable.
